Top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka Wins Back-to-Back WTA Top Player Awards.
World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been selected the Women's Tennis Association player of the year for a second successive year.
The 27-year-old won four tournament victories – the highest tally on the circuit – including retaining the US Open this past September versus Amanda Anisimova to claim her fourth career Grand Slam singles championship.
A Year of Dominance
Over the course of the tour, Sabalenka reached a tour-best nine finals, with losses coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.
The star player also won the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open in May. She remained the entire year as the top-ranked player, finishing 2025 atop the rankings for a second straight year.
This past summer, she became the first athlete to exceed 12,000 WTA ranking points since Serena Williams in 2015.
Historic Numbers
Sabalenka ended the season with a 63-12 match record, and picked up a historic £11m in earnings.
She garnered nearly eighty percent of the votes submitted by international tennis media.
Later this month, she is set to play 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match in a bid to "help bring women's tennis to a higher level".
