Expedition 33 Dominates at the 2025's Gaming Honors
The 43rd yearly Golden Joystick Awards were hosted recently, and with a remarkable performance, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 emerged as the most decorated winner. The standout role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive secured the coveted Top Game award, along with prizes for Outstanding Narrative and Best Visual Design.
Enhancing the developer's triumph, the skilled performers also were honored with individual awards. Jennifer English received Best Lead Performer for her portrayal as Maelle, while Ben Starr took home Best Supporting Actor for his role as Verso. Moreover, Sandfall Interactive itself received Top Studio. Overall, Clair Obscur and its makers achieved seven awards throughout the show.
Other standout winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which received Top Sound Design and Console Game of the Year, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, receiving Top Self-Published Indie and PC Game of the Year. Notably, the majority of Golden Joystick Awards are voted on by the audience, with only four awards—Critics Choice, Rising Star, Hall of Fame inductee, and Streamers' Favorite—decided by critics.
