David Walliams dropped by book publisher.

David Walliams

Acclaimed young adult author and comedian David Walliams is no longer with his publisher HarperCollins UK, as confirmed by the firm.

An official for the firm said: "Upon deliberation, and with the guidance of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing additional books by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the conclusion was taken subsequent to an review of reports of questionable actions involving women.

The company declined to specify the specific rationale behind the move, stating: "We do not comment on confidential company decisions."

A Prolific Literary Career

Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, boasting over over six tens of millions of copies globally in 55 languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.

Several of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.

To date, he has released more than 40 books combined, which features a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

His career breakthrough occurred on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE in 2017 in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.

This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
