British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Deadly Road Accident

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, officials in Lagos announced on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision outside Lagos on Monday, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The sports star had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to leave and heal privately.

“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the commissioner stated.

A Tribute to the Fallen

The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the athlete was heartbroken and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two trusted companions.”

His release from the hospital arrives after the global fight fans shared condolences for the star in the wake of the devastating accident.
