Barcelona to Host First Game at Renovated Camp Nou on Saturday
The club confirmed their first game will take place at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou this Saturday. They will welcome the Basque side in the Spanish league 30 months since relocating for construction to commence.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity but 45,401 spectators are permitted inside under the licence granted. After final construction, the Camp Nou is due to hold almost 105,000 spectators, up from the previous 99,000. The club said recent additions comprise an updated entryway for the team plus modern locker rooms.
Stadium Testing
The club conducted a fan-accessible workout at the Camp Nou in early November. Officials stated they were hoping for permission from Uefa to play their next home Champions League game versus the German side on 9 December in the renovated venue. Previous fixtures took place at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
